On April 28th 2012 Venice hosted the final stage of the Louis Vuitton Classic Serenissima Run, race for vintage cars departing from Monte Carlo and that in five days went through four States (Principality of Monaco, France, Switzerland, Italy). An event strongly desired by the fashion house Louis Vuitton, that has always been intimate to the "art of travelling" and that for this reason decided to launch a project linked to the "Classic Runs" and to the vintage cars: ideated in the '90s, these races took place in different parts of the world, and in 2012 they are back in Italy.
The route of about 1,400 kilometers passed mountains, historic towns and charming landscapes, stopping at Menthon-Saint-Bernard, Stresa, Verona and Fiesso d'Artico, before ending in the incomparable setting of St. Mark's basin. The race saw the participation of some 40 dream cars, including Ferrari, Maserati and Rolls-royce.
VM&E contributed to make the conclusion of this classic run unforgettable, thanks to the unique location, to the way it has benn adapted for the occasion and to the arrangements of the event: the Parvis of the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, facing Saint Mark's square, hosted the final "catwalk" of the cars, transported with a special ride of a ferry boat ACTV and setting up a dedicated temporary dock. Hundreds of guests of the company have therefore been able to walk between the exhibition of cars, taking photos with the background of Piazza San Marco, before attending the gala dinner held at the Cini Foundation.
