From May 18 to 20, the Understanding Risk Forum event was held, organized by the World Bank Group.
Conferences and workshops were hosted within the spaces of the Arsenale Nord, owned by the City of Venice and operated by Vela. In addition to logistics and the supervision of equipment and services Wi-Fi coverage was provided, in collaboration with Venis. This is the fourth forum this year dedicated to "Building evidence for action". Participants from all over the world gathered at the Arsenale: representatives of government agencies, multilateral organizations, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, research institutes, universities, community-based organizations, and members of civil society.
During the event, in order to strengthen the collaboration between the World Bank and the National Department of Civil Protection and to ratify the contribution of the National Service as a whole to the risk reduction policies promoted by the World Bank in developing countries, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Francis Ghesquiere, Manager of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), and Fabrizio Curcio, Head of the Department for Civil Protection.
